Successful entrepreneurs and leaders do not wait for that "big break" to come, because it may not, they are wise enough to know that we must create our own opportunity to get ahead in life.
Here are some steps that we can try, like successful people did:
1) Study your environment and find that opportunity. Study what is relevant in the market, what is your boss looking for or what kind of help does he need or what your clients require.
2) Demonstrate that you are the qualified person to take that opportunity.
3) Sow the seeds of opportunity and grow it. Establish and nurture that relationship with your clients, vendors or maybe your boss and peers. You'll never know, maybe the time to harvest may come early than planned.
4) Open your door to people and open your communication line. Join business groups, attend seminars and conferences, be with like-minded people, make yourself available, always willing to offer help.
In time without you noticing it, there will be many knocks on your door.
