7 Ways to connect for real

We are created by God as "relational beings".

Arthur Aron, a professor of psychology at New York’s Stony Brook University explained the connection of relationships with health.

Dr. D. W. Ekstrand in his article - "THE IMPORTANCE OF PEOPLE & FELLOWSHIP” cited the research done by the “Life Science Foundation” at the University of Minnesota shows that — **People who have a strong social network tend to live longer. **The heart and blood pressure of people with healthy relationships respond better to

stress. **Strong social networks are associated with healthier endocrine system and cardiovascular

functioning. **Healthy social networks enhance the immune system’s ability to fight off infections

diseases. (Life Science Foundation).

Indeed we cannot overemphasize the benefits of maintaining healthy relationships. However, many people in our day and age lacks the ability to connect for real.

So, here are 7 Ways to Connect for Real: 1. Be authentic. No one wants to be with fake people. 2. Make real conversations without any device. Have some coffee talk, stroll at the park, buy

groceries together, etc. 3. Empathise. You’ll get to know more people deeply if you listen well. 4. Add humor to your conversation. Laughter can unite all people from any walks of life. 5. Follow up on initial meet up. Nurture those relationships with real intent to build

friendship. 6. Leverage on social media by providing your connection with real content. Content is king.

People will be more engaged with content that provide them information. 7. Offer help to people. Any good deed can be your bridge to a profound relationship.
